Custom Collars - ACT

Bolt Diameter Requirements:

The standard bolt collar included with all Bore/Patch Guides will fit most popular centerfire actions with a 0.695”-0.700” (inches) bolt diameter. Most Remington, Winchester, Ruger, Browning, and Savage rifles have 0.695”-0.700” (inches) bolt diameters and DO NOT need a custom collar.

For actions with smaller or larger bolt diameters such as Weatherby, Sako, Kimber, CZ, etc., please have the rifle make, model and bolt body diameter to nearest 0.001” (inches) available. Each custom collar is threaded to except the brass locking handle used with the standard bolt collar.

Ordering Requirements:

Select the proper custom collar to fit your Bore/Patch Guide from the product selection drop down box and add it to your shopping cart. Please note there are 2 options available for each size Bore/Patch Guide; 0.695”& Under Diameter or 0.695”& Over Diameter.

During checkout, enter the rifle make/model and bolt body diameter to nearest 0.001” (inches) in the comments section. This information is used to machine the custom collar. Bore Tech is not responsible for inaccurate/incorrect measurements.

To Change Collar:

1) Remove original collar from rod shaft.

2) Slide new custom collar onto rod shaft.

Q: Why doesn’t the collar on my Action Cleaning Tool Kit fit into my rifle action?

A: The standard collar included with our Action Cleaning Tool Kit is sized to fit a 0.695” bolt diameter. While most rifle manufacturers use a 0.695” bolt diameter, some actions can have smaller or larger bolt diameters.  For these applications, a custom collar is required.

Q: What collar to I need for my rifle?

A: You will need to measure the bolt body diameter to the nearest 0.001” (inches) or provide the rifle make and model to determine what size collar is needed. If you are not able to provide the rifle make, model and bolt body diameter or are unsure what collar is needed for your application, please contact Customer Service to ensure the correct bolt collar for your application is received.
